New Life Is Strange Game Unveils ‘Pricefield’ Reunion

As the credits rolled on *Life Is Strange: Double Exposure*, fans were left with lingering questions, particularly about Chloe Price’s fate. Enter *Life Is Strange: Reunion*, a new installment that brings Max and Chloe back together for one final, time-bending journey.

This game was unveiled during a livestream event, following a leak from its PEGI rating. *Reunion* picks up after the events of *Double Exposure*, promising to be “the thrilling finale to the Max and Chloe saga.”

Here’s the official rundown of *Life Is Strange: Reunion*:

Chloe Price was Max Caulfield’s partner in time, and losing her is Max’s greatest regret. Now, Chloe has arrived at Caledon University, plagued by nightmares and fragmented memories. She needs Max’s help, but Max is facing her own crisis: in just three days, a catastrophic fire will engulf the campus. Max’s Rewind power has given her a chance to change the outcome, but she can’t do it alone. The fire will force them to make heart-wrenching choices. Can they carve out a future together before everything goes up in flames?

In a first for the series, Max and Chloe will be playable co-leads. Max retains her Rewind ability, but it has evolved. According to Andrew James, the senior brand manager, after Max leaps into a Polaroid to escape the fire, she discovers she can remain in that moment, starting anew from the point of her selfie.

Chloe, on the other hand, wields the power of Backtalk, allowing her to dominate conversations and explore parts of Caledon University that Max cannot. “She can go where Max can’t, ask what she wouldn’t, and say the things that would never cross Max’s mind,” James explains.

The game returns to Caledon University, where Max previously tried to save her friend-turned-frenemy Safi in *Double Exposure*. After a weekend away, Max returns to find the university ablaze. Devastated by the loss of friends and loved ones, she escapes thanks to her time-reversal powers, jumping back three days before the fire through a selfie. Now, not only does she have her powers back, but she also has to figure out how to save Caledon.

The biggest twist? Chloe Price shows up at Max’s door. Fans of the original *Life Is Strange* and *Double Exposure* will recall the choices surrounding Chloe’s fate—whether she was just a friend or a romantic partner, and whether she survived the previous game. If she didn’t make it, Max was left with guilt; if she did, their relationship had grown strained over time. Regardless, Chloe’s presence loomed large in Max’s story.

Before anyone gets too upset, Chloe’s return—regardless of her fate in previous choices—makes sense in light of *Double Exposure*. The reveal trailer confirms that Chloe is back due to Max merging two timelines to save Safi.

However, the full impact of Max’s decision has yet to be explored… until now. Chloe returns with memories of a life she may or may not have lived, and it’s up to Max to assist her.

While Max regains her time-rewinding abilities, Chloe is no slouch either. With her Backtalk skill, players can showcase her fierce attitude, allowing her to navigate situations and access areas that Max cannot. This marks the first time players can control Chloe since Deck Nine’s *Life Is Strange: Before the Storm* in 2017.

Fans of the *Life Is Strange* series know there have been several spinoffs, including *True Colors* and *Life Is Strange 2*, along with comics and novels. So, while this may conclude Max and Chloe’s story, does it signal the end for the *Life Is Strange* franchise? Given that *Double Exposure* was seen as a significant loss, it’s a possibility.

*Life Is Strange: Reunion* is set to launch on March 26 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X at a price of $39.99. A Deluxe Edition will include a digital art book, comic, mini-soundtrack, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary featuring actors Hannah Telle (Max) and Rhianna DeVries (Chloe) for $49.99. Additionally, a Collector’s Edition, featuring artwork by Ilya Kuvshinov, a 12″ vinyl soundtrack, a double-sided poster, a slipmat, three custom guitar plectrums, and three Polaroid art cards, will retail for $99.99.
