New My Hero Academia Spin-Off Anime Short Unveiled for 10th Anniversary Celebration

Almost immediately after the epilogue episode of My Hero Academia aired, a new anime short was announced.

Titled I am a hero too, this short will feature Eri and is based on a one-shot manga created by Kohei Horikoshi for My Hero Academia: Ultra Age. It explores Eri’s experiences after she enters high school at the series’ conclusion. While details about the plot of I am a hero too are still under wraps, it is expected to closely follow the storyline of the one-shot manga. So far, the only visual released is the logo for the anime short.

The announcement of I am a hero too is part of the tenth anniversary celebrations for My Hero Academia, which first premiered in April 2016. The anniversary highlights include “More,” the 171st episode of the anime, along with a special concert featuring the series’ music. The reveal of I am a hero too adds even more excitement for fans.

No specific release date has been provided yet, but the studio has indicated that it will be announced in the future. However, reports suggest that the anime short is set to debut sometime this summer.

The latest episode of My Hero Academia received high praise. One reviewer noted, “With ‘More,’ Bones Studio simply confirms its uncanny ability to adapt and elevate Horikoshi’s original work, just as the anime showcases for its entire run. Beautifully delicate visuals weave the brief but emotionally intense story of the episode throughout its 22-minute runtime.”

If you haven’t seen that episode yet, it’s definitely worth a watch while you await the release of I am a hero too. Fans can look forward to even more surprises as the tenth anniversary of My Hero Academia continues to unfold.
