New Story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem and Additional Content in the Works
Resident Evil Requiem, which launched last month, has taken the gaming world by storm, selling over 5 million copies in its first week and setting records on Steam. Given this success, it’s no surprise that the team is gearing up to expand the survival horror experience with a newly announced DLC.
On March 10, the director of Resident Evil Requiem, Koshi Nakanishi, shared a video message on social media. In it, he expressed gratitude for the game’s impressive sales and teased upcoming content.
“First, the much-anticipated photo mode,” Nakanishi revealed. “Additionally, we have another surprise coming in May. We’re planning to introduce a mini-game. We aim to keep supporting Resident Evil Requiem to match its positive reception.”
While details about the mini-game remain under wraps, it’s likely to resemble a Mercenaries-style mode, utilizing existing assets to create a fast-paced, action-oriented experience focused on combat and scoring. Previous entries in the series have offered similar modes as free updates. But that wasn’t all Nakanishi had to share.
“Oh… one more thing,” he added, “We are also working on extra story content. This [DLC] will explore the world of Requiem in greater depth.”
It may take some time for this new DLC to arrive, as Nakanishi noted: “We’re hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we appreciate your patience and hope you’re looking forward to it.”
In the meantime, players can enjoy replaying Resident Evil Requiem, which is designed for multiple playthroughs. The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.
