New Teaser Unveils the Expansive World of The Witcher 3’s Upcoming Expansion

Witcher fans are in for a treat this week. The long-awaited remaster of The Witcher 3 has finally dropped, bringing a host of updates and fixes to the beloved RPG that’s been around for a decade. Best of all, it’s a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the game, and it includes both of its fantastic expansions at no additional cost. Alongside the remaster, there’s also a new teaser for the upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, which fittingly revolves around music.

Milan Records and the development team have launched “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past (Original Soundtrack Gamescom 2026 EP)” across all major music streaming platforms. This EP features five original tracks from the upcoming expansion, which were first showcased during the recent Gamescom event. Here’s the complete tracklist:

Newcomers Magda Urbańska and Daniel Elms have joined the Witcher franchise, while Marcin Przybyłowicz, who contributed one track to the EP, was the lead composer for The Witcher 3 and its expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Reflecting on her work for the new expansion’s soundtrack, Urbańska expressed, “Creating music for Songs of the Past was incredibly exciting for me, but I also felt a huge sense of responsibility.” She added, “I vividly remember the first time I heard the music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—it shook me to the core. That music was extraordinary then, and it remains extraordinary to this day.”

Similar to Blood and Wine, Songs of the Past will introduce players to a brand-new region, complete with a fresh story, new monsters, and quests for Geralt to dive into. It’s expected to be roughly the same size as the expansions released in 2016. In this new adventure, Geralt will come out of retirement and journey to the land of Letten to uncover a dark secret hidden within this picturesque region.

Unlike the base game and its initial expansions, Songs of the Past is being developed in collaboration with Fool’s Theory, a studio comprised of several former team members from The Witcher 3. Fool’s Theory is also working on the upcoming remake of the original Witcher game. Songs of the Past is slated for release in 2027, though a specific date has yet to be announced.

The Witcher 3 remains an unfinished masterpiece, even with its revamped edition.
