New Trailer Released for Haikyu!! TV Special and Final Film
The beloved volleyball squad is gearing up for one last showdown. In celebration of Haikyu!! Day, new trailers and teaser images have been unveiled for the upcoming Haikyu!! anime. There are two exciting projects on the horizon: the Where Monsters Go TV special and the Haikyu!!: VS The Little Giant film.
You can check out the new trailer for Where Monsters Go below.
Where Monsters Go is set to release in 2027 and features a thrilling match between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High School. The trailer highlights the star players, Kotaro Bokuto and Wakatsu Kiryu, as they exchange powerful spikes.
On the other hand, the more significant of the two Haikyu!! projects, Haikyu!!: VS The Little Giant, will continue the Tokyo Nationals Arc right where the Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle movie left off. Like the special, this film is also slated for 2027. It will serve as the second installment in the Haikyu!! Final films, which aim to wrap up the series (though the term “Final” has become a bit of a misnomer in the anime world, especially after Attack on Titan’s “Final” season stretched over a significant portion of the series). A new teaser image for the film can be seen below.
For those who may not know, Haikyu!! follows Shoyo Hinata, a determined teenager aspiring to become an exceptional volleyball player despite his shorter stature. He eventually joins the Karasuno High School team as they strive for Nationals.
The Haikyu!! anime is adapted from the manga of the same name, which was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The series has been compiled into 45 volumes, with distribution in North America. The anime adaptation by Production I.G. consists of 85 TV episodes, including five original video animations, airing from 2014 to 2020. The TV series concludes in the midst of the Tokyo Nationals Arc, which covers up to chapter 369 of the manga. The two anime films, The Dumpster Battle and Little Giant, are expected to adapt the remainder of the story. Both the manga and anime have enjoyed immense popularity, with the manga boasting over 75 million copies in circulation.
Finally, the long-awaited English version is now readily available.
