Nintendo announces upcoming Direct presentation on August 4.
A new Nintendo Direct is set for this Tuesday, as confirmed by Nintendo. This upcoming livestream will spotlight the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 title, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, marking the latest chapter in the long-standing tactical role-playing game series.
The Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct will go live on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 7 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. EDT on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. The deep dive into the game is expected to run for about 20 minutes.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave was first revealed last September as an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2. This new installment promises “an intertwining story of strength and steel” featuring four new heroes: Cai, a young boy on a quest to rescue his father; Dietrich, a swordsman in search of formidable opponents; Theodora, a queen striving to realize her homeland’s long-held aspirations; and Leda, a musician driven by a desire for revenge.
Each character brings their own unique goals and narratives to the table, participating in the Dagsion Heroic Games, a competition that pits warriors against each other in a Colosseum-like setting. The victor will have their wish granted by the Divine Sovereign, a godlike entity overseeing the games. Between battles, players can explore the capital city of Dagsion, hone their skills at training grounds, forge bonds to recruit allies, and venture beyond the city limits for additional experience. This game appears to serve as a prequel to 2019’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is scheduled to launch on the Switch 2 on Sept. 17.
Dagda is home to several characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
