Nintendo Switch 2 Camera Hits Record Low Price Following Star Fox’s Exciting Update

If you’ve been eyeing the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera but hesitated due to its price, now’s your chance to snag one at a great deal.

Originally priced at $54.99, the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is currently available for just $9.99 at a retailer. You’ll need to add it to your cart to see the discounted price, but this represents a massive savings of over 80%.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera was introduced alongside the console and is linked to the GameChat feature. Nintendo has integrated party and voice chat directly into the system, along with USB camera support, allowing players to see each other while gaming. While it does support third-party cameras, opting for the official Nintendo version has always felt a bit pricey for what it offers.

Only a handful of Switch 2 exclusives truly utilize the camera, with indie title Chillin’ by the Fire being one of the standout examples. On the first-party side, games like Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour minigames showcased its capabilities during the console’s launch year.

Recently, Velan Studios’ remake of Star Fox introduced a fun feature that makes the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera more appealing. Players who purchase the game can access eight character avatars for GameChat that mimic their facial expressions. Using GameChat becomes a lot more entertaining when you and your friends can embody characters like Slippy Toad.

While this enjoyable feature is tied to a peripheral, the reduced price of the official Nintendo Switch 2 Camera makes it a worthwhile investment, especially if you want to try out the Star Fox character avatars.
