The ever-evolving No Man’s Sky might be gearing up for another update, or perhaps there’s more brewing regarding Light No Fire. It’s tough to say, especially with the cryptic posts from Hello Games’ Sean Murray.
If you haven’t caught them yet, Murray has shared two posts that have sent the community into a frenzy. The first features just one emoji: a neon orange safety vest. No context, no explanation—just that. The second post includes three of the same safety vest emojis. What could they possibly mean?

The speculation is rampant, and as expected, fans are buzzing with theories. Some believe it hints at a new No Man’s Sky update, which is certainly plausible given Hello Games’ track record. Others are hoping for solid news about Light No Fire, the studio’s enigmatic upcoming project. One fan wonders, “Are we finally going to take over abandoned space stations and start rebuilding?” Another suggests a patch that could “redefine base building” is on the way.
But my favorite theory? “Sean, I can’t explain it, but the game needs a dragon at this point.” I’m with you on that one, friend. Fans aren’t just sharing their wild theories under Murray’s posts; they’re also taking the conversation to Reddit, where the responses are even more entertaining. One user jokingly asks, “OSHA manuals for everyone?” while another speculates it could be a “safety update” for No Man’s Sky. The OSHA jokes are everywhere, but there’s also a flurry of rumors about Light No Fire. A separate thread has fans discussing why they think the safety vests point to news about Light No Fire rather than No Man’s Sky, and some of the reasoning involves some serious, albeit humorous, logic. “3 vests = 3 words = Light No Fire,” starts one comment.
“Why not No Man’s Sky? Where do people wear construction vests? In the sky? No, around areas where you don’t light fires = Light No Fire,” it continues. “What do reflective vests reflect? Light. What’s the opposite of that? No Light. Swap them = Light No. What is yellow, red, orange, and glows? Vests and Fire -> Light No Fire.” My head is spinning, folks. I’m not even sure I grasp what “Light” and “Fire” mean anymore.
In the end, there’s no shortage of entertaining (if not downright hilarious) fan theories to explore while we await an actual teaser from Murray… whenever that may be. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to brush up on some health and safety regulations—just in case.
