No Rest for the Wicked Dominates Steam’s Charts

No Rest for the Wicked, a brutally intense action RPG from the minds behind Ori and the Blind Forest, is making waves on Steam, even surpassing popular titles like Arc Riders.

Developed by Moon Studios, No Rest for the Wicked took its first steps into early access in April 2024. It garnered a warm reception at launch, with peak player counts reaching around 36,000. However, the game’s latest update, which introduced multiplayer co-op on January 22, has propelled concurrent player numbers to nearly 63,000.

This surge in players hasn’t gone unnoticed. Thomas Mahler, the CEO and creative director of No Rest for the Wicked, recently shared on social media that the game is selling approximately 50,000 copies daily, peaking at 72,000 on January 26. The success can be attributed to the new multiplayer feature and a 40% discount that accompanied the update.

In No Rest for the Wicked, players dive into a plague-ridden, war-torn world. As Cerim, a holy warrior, your mission is to combat the plague and halt the spread of disease—no matter the cost. Each dungeon and forest presents fresh enemies and challenges, and with the co-op feature, you can now tackle these obstacles alongside friends. This addition allows players to not only fight together but also engage in fishing, crafting, foraging, trading, and community building—all without the worry of microtransactions impacting gameplay.

Currently, No Rest for the Wicked is available in early access on PC via Steam and Steam Deck, with plans to expand to platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future. While there’s no confirmed date for its full release, speculation suggests that the official launch could happen in late 2026.
