Nvidia Discontinues GeForce Control Panel After Two Decades of Service

Nvidia has officially announced the retirement of its long-standing Control Panel app for Windows, a move that has been in the works for over two years. With the latest update to the Nvidia App, all key features previously found in the Control Panel for GeForce users have been successfully migrated to this new platform.

“After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic Nvidia Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers,” Nvidia stated. However, for those using Nvidia RTX PRO, the Control Panel will still be available until all professional features are transitioned to the new app.

The legacy Control Panel will remain on users’ PCs unless they opt for a clean driver installation. If needed, it can still be accessed through the Microsoft Store, but it will no longer receive updates or new features.

Last year, Nvidia successfully transferred most of the essential Control Panel functionalities to the Nvidia App, which now serves as a comprehensive tool for downloading and installing drivers, managing game settings, and switching between different DLSS modes.

In addition to this announcement, Nvidia has rolled out a new Game Ready driver, version 610.47, optimized for the upcoming release of 007 First Light, and it also adds support for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
