One week remains to experience the most overlooked Battlefield title.
Battlefield Hardline, the 2015 spin-off that shifted the focus to police and crime, was a daring entry in the Battlefield series, though it had its share of shortcomings. Unfortunately, the multiplayer servers for the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be going offline in just a week, on Monday, June 22.
The game was pulled from digital stores last month, on May 22, meaning if you don’t already own it on PS4 or Xbox One, you’re out of luck unless you can track down a physical copy. However, you can still access it by subscribing to EA Play. If you have it in your library, now’s the time to dive in before the multiplayer experience disappears for good. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were already taken offline back in 2024.
For those on Windows PC, the game remains available for purchase through both Steam and EA, and there are currently no plans to shut down the multiplayer servers. However, SteamDB indicates that the game averages fewer than 50 players daily, so finding a multiplayer match might be a challenge.
Our original review highlighted how innovative Hardline was, particularly praising the campaign as “more interesting and certainly all-around better than the last few years’ worth of Battlefield games.” Thankfully, you can still enjoy the campaign offline even after the servers go dark.
If you’re looking to jump into the latest installment, now is a great time as Battlefield 6 is set to introduce naval warfare and the largest map in the series to date.
