Original Persona 4 Voice Actor Returns for Revival Project

It looks like the team behind Persona 4 Revival managed to bring back at least one familiar voice. Atlus has announced the voice actors for several characters in the game, and Johnny Yong Bosch will be reprising his role as Tohru Adachi.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating this news…

Bosch is a beloved voice actor (and a nostalgic Power Ranger for some) whose portrayal of Adachi, the partner-in-crime of Ryotaro Dojima, is a standout. Interestingly, he also voiced the protagonist, Yu Narukami, in the original Persona 4. However, he won’t be taking on dual roles this time; the lead character will now be voiced by Nazeeh Tarsha, known for his work in Genshin Impact and the anime series Kaiju No. 8 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

The announcement has thrilled some fans, who are glad to see at least one original cast member returning. The developers shared their approach to the voice cast for Revival, noting that they faced challenges in securing former cast members due to scheduling issues or because they’ve moved on from the industry.

“So we’re like, ‘OK, I guess we have to kind of once again roll up our sleeves,’” said game director Kazuhisa Wada in an interview. “‘Alright, let’s start over. Let’s get a whole new cast in and let’s do our best.’”

However, this casting news has left some fans puzzled about how Bosch was able to return while other original cast members, like Yuri Lowenthal, who expressed a strong desire to reprise his role as Yosuke Hanamura, were not brought back.

So…JYB, who I absolutely adore, is literally the only one you brought back despite multiple previous actors saying they would have jumped at the chance to return?
