Palworld Creator Invites Fortnite Team to Collaborate After Producer Expresses Interest in Game’s Style
Pocketpair’s head of publishing and communications, John ‘Bucky’ Buckley, is eager to explore the possibility of a crossover with Fortnite.
At this point, Fortnite has teamed up with just about everything imaginable. Recent additions include characters from South Park and SpongeBob SquarePants, and rumors suggest that fan-favorites like Ed, Edd, n Eddy, The Office, and Regular Show could be next. It seems that no concept is off the table, regardless of how well it fits the game’s vibe. Securing a spot in Fortnite can significantly boost visibility for the original content, thanks to its enormous player base.
Robby Williams, a gameplay producer for Fortnite (not the singer), recently shared on Twitter that he’s been diving back into Palworld. He expressed his admiration for the game’s design, stating, “I’m still kinda taken aback by how smart the design is if you like both creature collecting and base-building/optimization games.” He further noted, “I think Palworld has a really excellent gameplay loop around how the Pals play into improving production rates across the various base resources.”
Bucky took notice of Williams’ comments, quoting his tweet and saying, “Survival games aren’t for everyone, but we’re really glad Palworld is resonating with people!” After thanking Williams, he made his pitch: “If you ever want to put Palworld in Fortnite just reach out hehe.”
When a user inquired whether Fortnite might ever feature a game mode akin to Palworld, Williams responded, “I’d love to see something like that someday! I think the different approaches taken by games like Pokémon and Palworld are super interesting, so it’s fun to think about what a Fortnite version of a creature collector would look like!”
With Fortnite already offering a variety of game modes beyond its main battle royale experience, the future holds plenty of possibilities. It’s clear that Pocketpair would be excited about an official crossover if Epic ever comes calling.
Fortnite now allows in-game purchases in user-generated Creative maps, including for randomized items.
