Palworld’s Home Sweet Home update may not deliver as much content as expected, but the lead developer assures it will enhance the game’s 1.0 launch experience.

Pocketpair’s communications director, John ‘Bucky’ Buckley, has shared that the recent Palworld Home Sweet Home update isn’t packed with new content. Instead, the development team is concentrating on essential fixes before the game can officially leave early access.

As the launch of Palworld Home Sweet Home approaches, Bucky took to Twitter to remind players about a video he released earlier. He noted, “Home Sweet Home won’t be as content-heavy as you might like, but it lays the groundwork and foundation towards making Palworld 1.0 the best ever! Thanks!!”

The video he referenced, released in September, informed players that the team is dedicated to refining Palworld for its anticipated 1.0 launch in 2026. Bucky emphasized, “There’s a lot of cleanup that needs to be done before Palworld can exit early access. It’s no secret that Palworld has a lot of quirks and jank, and we want to take the time to properly address those before releasing the game. With that in mind, we plan to start that cleanup this year. Our goal is ultimately to release Palworld next year in 2026, and we think taking the time now to fix those problems will ultimately lead to a better game.”

In a sentiment often attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto but originally voiced by Gabe Newell, “A game’s only late until it ships, but it sucks forever.”

Additionally, the lead developer hinted at the possibility of a more story-driven approach to the survival game, acknowledging that many creature collector fans are accustomed to narrative-rich experiences similar to Pokémon.
