Perplexity Transforms Windows PCs into AI-Powered Assistants
Perplexity has rolled out its agentic Personal Computer tool for Windows, enabling users of the world’s leading operating system to harness AI capabilities directly on their machines. Similar to the Mac version launched earlier, this Windows edition functions as a versatile digital assistant, capable of accessing local files and applications to handle tasks like document creation and spreadsheet updates.
This new release builds on previous integrations with Microsoft’s 365 suite and Teams, introduced in May. The Windows version aims to fill the gap by operating seamlessly within the Windows environment, as Perplexity highlighted in its announcement, emphasizing that much of the enterprise work the tool is designed for typically takes place on Windows devices, often beyond the reach of AI.
“Now Microsoft users can ask Computer to work across their local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web in one place,” Perplexity stated. “It’s built for the often messy way enterprise work gets done on local machines.”
The Personal Computer for Windows is now available to paying Max and Enterprise Max subscribers, with plans starting at $200 per month. Perplexity assures users that the tool does not train on company data and always alerts users before executing sensitive actions, such as sending emails or deleting files.
