Persona 6’s Anticipated Reveal Falls Short of Expectations

Following the recent leaks of character and logo images for Persona 6, we finally have a glimpse of the game reveal… sort of.

The trailer showcased during the Xbox Games Showcase kicked off with a haunting sequence of tombstones in the rain, quickly transitioning to a series of eerie visuals that are sure to spark fan theories. And then, we got the logo. That’s right, just a logo! It’s green! We’ve already seen this in the leaks, though!

Update 2:40pm ET: The store page for Persona 6 has gone live on Xbox’s website, revealing a few more details about the game. Like its predecessors, Persona 6 will feature a high school student living a double life, empowered by their Persona, or alternate self. This installment will delve into “something darker: strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents that only you and your closest allies can confront.”

Original story continues:

Thanks to the leaks, there’s already a wealth of fan art featuring the main protagonist, affectionately dubbed John Persona by fans. Initially, his quirky bowl cut drew some ridicule, but opinions are shifting. It’s been ages since a new mainline Persona game (can you believe Persona 5 came out TEN YEARS AGO?!) that fans are getting a bit wild in anticipation for this one. I can only imagine the limited footage we saw today will be analyzed to death until we get a proper reveal down the line.

Persona 6 is on its way… eventually… for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
