Play a Top Global Game for Free on Xbox This Weekend!

The new year is off to a great start for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential subscribers, as they can dive into their first Free Play Days of 2026 this weekend. From January 15-18, players will have the chance to experience one of the globe’s most beloved sports titles, EA Sports FC 26, at no cost. To promote the event, EA and Xbox released a fun video featuring retired German soccer star Toni Kroos, who spent a decade with Real Madrid, making calls and reconnecting with fans. Now that’s what we call customer service!

Game Pass Premium and Essential are priced at $15 and $10 per month, respectively. However, Microsoft is offering a limited-time deal allowing players to try Premium for just $1 for 14 days. Essential also has a $1 trial, but it lasts for 30 days. Unfortunately, Game Pass Ultimate remains at its regular price of $30 per month without any discounts at this time.

According to research from Newzoo, EA Sports FC 26 was the top-grossing console game of 2025, raking in the most international sales through November. On the PC side, it ranked sixth overall. The game was reviewed by an outlet in September 2025, earning a score of 7/10. The review highlighted significant improvements over its predecessor, EA FC 25, while also pointing out some flaws: “There are issues on and off the pitch, yet this is the best the series has been for a while. It may not take home a trophy this year, but it’s definitely getting closer to glory.”
