Pokémon Launches Official Fitbit for Enhanced Sleep Tracking
Pokémon has spent the last decade innovating ways to bring its creatures into our everyday lives. With Pokémon Go transforming your local area into a Pokédex and Pokémon Pokopia allowing players to create their own Pokémon utopia, the franchise continues to evolve. Now, Pokémon Sleep takes it a step further by turning your sleep time into a Pokémon-catching adventure, where the Pokémon you encounter depend on how well you snooze.
If you’ve been catching Z’s with Snorlax, there’s a new way to flaunt your sleep stats. Google has unveiled a special Pokémon Sleep edition of the Fitbit Air, a sleek tracker designed to integrate seamlessly with Pokémon Sleep while sporting a fresh, themed look.
This new Pokémon Sleep edition is essentially a customized version of the Fitbit Air, Google’s compact sleep and health tracker. Weighing in at just 5.2 grams, it’s meant to be worn all day and night, featuring an optical heart-rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, SpO2 sensors, and a skin-temperature sensor.
It can keep track of seven days of detailed motion data and up to 30 days of daily summaries, with a battery life that lasts up to a week.
While the Pokémon version doesn’t offer any unique technical features, it’s fundamentally the same Fitbit Air, just dressed up in a Pokémon Sleep design. It’s a fun way to showcase your dedication to Pokémon without uttering a word.
For those who might not know, Pokémon Sleep turns your nightly rest into a Pokémon-collecting experience. Simply place your phone or compatible sleep-tracking device nearby while you sleep, and the game will analyze your sleep patterns to classify your sleep type. Upon waking, you’ll find various Pokémon gathered around Snorlax, depending on your sleep quality, giving you new Pokémon to discover and add to your collection.
The Fitbit Pokémon Sleep edition is priced at $129.99, and preorders are now open.
But the Fitbit isn’t the only exciting Pokémon project on the horizon. Pokémon Winds and Waves, an upcoming exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2, has been relatively quiet, but recent leaks have sparked interest among fans. One leaked screenshot reportedly shows an unfinished inventory interface with placeholder Pokémon art, including several images of Moltres. Another leak hints at the final evolutions of the three starters in Winds and Waves: Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua.
It seems that Pokémon are just like oversized cats and dogs when their trainers wake up!
