Pokémon Pokopia Introduces Anti-Motion Sickness Features for Ditto Divers

Pokémon Pokopia is set to launch the first part of its three-part expansion pass, Bubbly Basin, this Wednesday, and fans are buzzing with excitement to plunge back into the game and explore the ocean’s depths.

While teasers have hinted at what’s in store, many details remain under wraps. An outlet had the chance to experience the initial phase of the Pokémon Pokopia expansion during its development, sharing intriguing insights about the upcoming update v2.0.0 and Bubbly Basin.

New additions to the Pokédex in Bubbly Basin include Pokémon like Diglett, Golisopod, Stunfisk, and Sharpedo. With this expansion, players will have the opportunity to create habitats for these creatures and form friendships. The base game allows players to use the Dive ability to explore underwater, but they won’t be able to register Pokémon that reside in Bubbly Basin.

In addition to Dive, players can utilize other abilities while submerged, and there’s an upgrade for the Surf move that enhances the underwater experience. Players will also gain access to a blender in Bubbly Basin, enabling them to whip up smoothies that power up Surf. Once upgraded, Surf will not only gain a speed boost but also allow players to break through underwater blocks.

To help players who might struggle with orientation or experience motion sickness, the developers have implemented visual indicators. Gamers will see a frame and a central icon on the screen to assist with navigation during underwater exploration.

Another exciting feature launching for free on August 5 is a special container that can be placed in various towns. This container will provide access to its loot no matter where it was originally located, offering a total of 140 free slots.

This means players won’t need to fast-travel to retrieve items, a significant improvement for those with storage boxes scattered across the map or large inventories. With so much content arriving in Pokémon Pokopia this week, players will want to dive in, whether they’re picking up Bubbly Basin or downloading the free update.

Bubbly Basin is just around the corner—will your favorite Pokémon be part of the adventure?
