Popular isekai anime celebrates its 10th anniversary with exciting new announcements.

Fans of the beloved isekai series KonoSuba – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! have been eagerly awaiting updates on the fourth season ever since a major 10-year anniversary announcement was hinted at on social media. While many hoped this would reveal details about the new season, it turns out the news was about two spin-off light novels, both penned by the original creator, Natsume Akatsuki.

The titles, Detour for the 4th Time and Even More Spotlight on That Fool, are set to launch simultaneously on February 28.

Even more exciting is the announcement of a livestream event scheduled for January 13. Four cast members from the KonoSuba anime will be present to share more details about the light novels and, as many speculate, provide updates on the confirmed fourth season, which still lacks a release date. The cast includes Jun Fukushima, Amamiya Sora, Rie Takahashi, Ai Kayano, and MC Hyakka Ryouran.

According to YouTuber Otahare-san, the plot of Detour for the 4th Time features Kazuma and Megumin going on a date to the theater, Darkness taking on the role of a lord facing various challenges, and Kazuma embarking on a “genuine adventure.” Additionally, a new character is set to make an appearance in the spin-off.

For those unfamiliar, KonoSuba follows the story of Kazuma Satou, a reclusive gamer who meets an embarrassing end and is reincarnated in a fantasy world to take down the Demon King. Reluctantly accompanied by the inept goddess Aqua, Kazuma assembles a hilariously dysfunctional party with the explosion-obsessed mage Megumin and the masochistic crusader Darkness. Instead of pursuing a noble quest, the group often finds themselves in debt, navigating chaos, and achieving victories through sheer incompetence, playfully subverting traditional isekai and RPG fantasy conventions.

This unique approach and the endearing characters have earned the franchise a dedicated fanbase. The 10-year KonoSuba anniversary livestream is set to kick off at 9 PM on January 13.
