Pre-orders for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Switch are now available, with UK fans receiving a special bonus!
Quick pre-orders:
US: $59.99 at GameStop
UK: £49.99 at Nintendo (with pre-order gift)
For those who spent countless hours crafting a quirky digital world for their Miis on the 3DS, there’s exciting news: Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on April 16. Pre-orders are open for $59.99 in the US and £49.99 in the UK, where players can also snag a free Magnetic Photo Frame. This acrylic frame can hold 15x10cm photos, perfect for showcasing a snapshot of your favorite Mii or any cherished moment from the game. Given the recent announcement about limitations on sharing game screenshots on social media, this frame offers a fun way to display your best Living the Dream experiences, even if they end up on your fridge.
Nintendo has streamlined the pre-order process this time. Since Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is a Nintendo Switch title, there’s no need to worry about a red-colored Switch 2 boxed version or game-key card. Switch 2 players can simply grab the Switch version, and I’ve compiled a list of US and UK retailers where you can find it below.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | $59.99 at GameStop
GameStop was the first US retailer to offer pre-orders for Living the Dream on the Switch, available now for its full $59.99 MSRP. Just keep in mind that it may take 2-3 business days for it to arrive after release.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | $59.99 at Best Buy
If you’re in the US and want to ensure you get your physical Nintendo Switch copy on release day, Best Buy is your best bet. Pre-orders went live quickly after the direct, and you can arrange for a pickup on launch day to guarantee you get it.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | Check stock at Amazon
Amazon has been slow to list major Switch game pre-orders lately, so it’s no surprise that Tomodachi Life Living the Dream isn’t available yet. When it does show up, you can take advantage of your Prime shipping.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | £49.99 at Nintendo (with free gift)
For UK players, the official Nintendo online store is a top choice for pre-ordering Tomodachi Life, especially since it includes an exclusive Magnetic Photo Frame gift while supplies last—ideal for displaying your favorite moments from the game.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | Check stock at Amazon
Currently, there’s no sign of Tomodachi Life Living the Dream at Amazon UK. However, you can find a pre-owned copy of the original 3DS game if you’re interested. Hopefully, Living the Dream will be available soon.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | Check stock at Very
Very is a somewhat underrated UK retailer, but they can be a bit slow with new Switch game pre-orders. They haven’t listed Tomodachi Life yet, but I’ll keep you updated as soon as it becomes available.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream | Check stock at Argos
As of now, Argos doesn’t have Tomodachi Life Living the Dream in stock, but that could change soon. It often takes a few days after a Nintendo Direct for copies to appear at Argos and other UK retailers, so stay tuned for updates.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream releases on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 for $59.99 / £49.99 on April 16, 2026.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is not a game-key card; physical copies include the full Nintendo Switch game on the cartridge.
Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is a Nintendo Switch game, and there is no dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Edition as of now.
During the Tomodachi Life Living the Dream Nintendo Direct on January 29, Nintendo’s Executive Officer, Yoshiaki Koizumi, confirmed that “the game will also be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 system,” but no specific version for the new handheld was mentioned.
You can capture screenshots and record game clips in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream using the capture button on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. However, Nintendo has indicated that there will be restrictions on transferring those screenshots to social media and smartphones via the new handheld.
