Professor Layton and Decapolice Show New Signs of Activity from Level-5

Level-5 recently unveiled exciting updates on several upcoming titles during its showcase. Fans were treated to fresh insights on highly anticipated games like *Professor Layton and the World of Steam* and the long-awaited *Decapolice*.

Kicking off the stream, Level-5 acknowledged the growing influence of AI in the industry, emphasizing their commitment to human craftsmanship. This statement comes in light of previous comments from CEO Akihiro Hino, who faced criticism for his optimistic views on AI’s role in game development.

The showcase primarily focused on updates for Level-5’s upcoming projects. Highlights included a new trailer for *Professor Layton and the World of Steam*, a mobile adaptation of *Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time*, and a brief update on *Decapolice*. Here’s a rundown of the announcements.

We got an in-depth look at *Professor Layton and the World of Steam*, which is nearing completion. The new trailer introduced the game’s mystery involving a phantom gunman and a kidnapped heiress, along with glimpses of various puzzles. While it’s set to launch in 2026, a specific release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. The game will be available on PS5 and Windows PC, in addition to the previously announced Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions.

In a quick update reel featuring *Inazuma Eleven RE* and *Holy Horror Mansion*, Level-5 finally provided a glimpse of *Decapolice*. The teaser trailer didn’t reveal much but confirmed that the game is still in development, which is a positive sign for fans.

*Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold*, originally released in 2018, is being fully remade as *Snack World Reloaded*. This version boasts enhanced diorama-style visuals and introduces a new mode where players can take on the role of Chup, the hero from the *Snack World* anime. While a release date is still pending, it will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC.

*Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time*, a surprise hit life simulation game from 2025, is making its way to Android and iOS devices. It will support cross-play and cross-progression with the PC and console versions, launching as a paid premium title that includes DLC. The mobile version is expected to arrive later this year.

A new trailer and plenty of details were shared for *Inazuma Eleven: Cross*, the latest entry in Level-5’s soccer franchise. Notably, the mobile version will also be available on Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-registration for the mobile game is open now, with a full release scheduled for June. Additionally, *Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road* will see a physical release on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 11.

In an unexpected twist, Level-5 announced a “sequel project to the Yo-Kai Watch series” within its mobile game *Yo-Kai Watch: Wibble Wobble*. This game-within-a-game, titled *The Great Detective Nekomata*, features a story about a novelist and his cat teaming up to solve mysteries.

Lastly, *Pufflings: Journey Through a Fantasy World* is a new mobile title in development by Level-5 and NHN PlayArt. Inspired by *SuikaGame*, it features adorable animals instead of fruit. Level-5 plans to expand the franchise with animated films and merchandise, with a release slated for this winter.
