PS Plus Expands Game Catalog This Month with Major Additions, Featuring Final Fantasy 16

It’s scorching outside, so I’m spending more time indoors, and when I’m inside, gaming is my go-to activity. If you’re reading this, chances are you feel the same way, especially with the latest updates on PlayStation Plus games. This month brings some exciting titles for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, including Final Fantasy 16, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, and the classic PS2 gem Gitaroo Man.

On June 10, PlayStation revealed the upcoming additions to the PS Plus Extra and Premium game catalog. Keep in mind that not all of these titles will be available immediately, so I’ve included the release dates to help you plan your gaming sessions.

The highlight of this month’s lineup is Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16, the latest standalone entry in the beloved series, and it’s definitely worth your time. For Sonic enthusiasts, Sonic X Shadow Generations is also on the list. While it may not reach the heights of FF16, it offers a fun way to revisit the game with some fresh content. I’m particularly looking forward to Farming Simulator 25, as it allows me to indulge in my yearly tradition of exploring a farming game for a few hours before uninstalling it. And let’s not overlook Gitaroo Man, a quirky yet fantastic rhythm game from the PS2 era that I hope runs smoothly on PS5 and PS4 without any timing hiccups.

To access, download, and enjoy these PlayStation titles, you’ll need to maintain an active PS Plus Extra or Premium subscription, as the Essential tier doesn’t include the game catalog. If your subscription lapses, you won’t be able to play these games until you resubscribe.
