Razer Unveils Blade 16 Gaming Laptop Featuring Intel Panther Lake Processor and High-Speed RAM
Razer is ramping up its Blade 16 gaming laptop for 2026, enhancing both speed and battery life. This premium gaming rig retains the sleek design and RTX 50-series GPU options from last year’s version but makes a significant upgrade by switching from AMD to the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H “Panther Lake” processor, along with faster RAM. The new Blade 16 is now available directly from Razer, starting at $3,499.99 for the model featuring an RTX 5080 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The high-end RTX 5090 variant offers 2TB of storage and is priced at $4,499.99. Razer has indicated that a more budget-friendly Blade 16 with the RTX 5070 Ti will be announced and released later.
Razer touts that this new laptop is up to 60 percent more power-efficient and boasts 33 percent more processing cores, with the Intel chip featuring 16 cores compared to last year’s 12-core AMD. Additionally, the Blade 16 is equipped with LPDDR5X-9600MHz RAM, providing a significant speed boost over the previous model’s 8000MHz memory. This “fastest available memory” is soldered onto the motherboard, just like in the 2025 version.
Other enhancements for the 2026 Blade include high-speed Thunderbolt 5 on one of its two USB-C ports (the other supports Thunderbolt 4), an upgraded six-speaker audio system, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and a slight increase in brightness for its OLED display, now reaching 500 nits compared to 400 nits in SDR mode.
Having reviewed the 5090 model last year, I found the Blade 16 impressive. While the price tag is steep and the 5090 may not justify the extra cost over the 5080, the Blade series remains one of the thinnest and most stylish options for those seeking a MacBook Pro-like experience with a gaming focus. With the promising performance and efficiency of Intel’s Panther Lake chip, I’m eager to see how it performs in the Blade, especially when the more affordable 5070 Ti model arrives.
