Release Date Announced for Percy Jackson Season 3

The Disney Plus adaptation of Rick Riordan’s *Percy Jackson and the Olympians* series is set to return on November 20. This upcoming third season will bring to life the novel *The Titan’s Curse*, and the cast and crew made it clear during a major panel at San Diego Comic-Con that this season will delve into darker themes than ever before.

This marks the first time *The Titan’s Curse* has been adapted for live-action. The first two books, *The Lightning Thief* and *The Sea of Monsters*, were previously brought to the screen by 20th Century Fox in 2010 and 2013. As highlighted during the SDCC panel, *The Titan’s Curse* represents a tonal shift; while the earlier seasons had their share of dark moments, this new installment takes that intensity to a whole new level.

For those in attendance, Disney showcased the opening minutes of season 3, featuring Annabeth and Percy as they attempt to recruit the newly awakened Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart). Thalia is on a quest to find her former friend and series antagonist, Luke, while Percy grapples with his feelings about her joining the team. In *The Titan’s Curse*, Percy and his friends embark on a mission to rescue two new demigods, leading them into yet another clash between Titans and Gods, this time involving the Hunters of Artemis and the world-bearing Atlas.

Fans will be thrilled to see newcomers Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie portraying Nico and Bianca di Angelo, the children of Hades. They will join returning favorites Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Showrunner Dan Shotz mentioned that Annabeth’s role has been significantly expanded in this season compared to the book, while the panelists also noted that this season is the most faithful adaptation to the source material so far.

The cast of Olympus has grown in season 3, with Dafne Keen (from *Logan* and *His Dark Materials*) taking on the role of Artemis, Kate McKinnon (from *Saturday Night Live*) as Aphrodite, Ming-Na Wen (from *Agents of Shield*) as Hera, Jennifer Beals (from *The L Word*) as Demeter, and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo. Smielecki’s casting is particularly intriguing given Apollo’s crucial role in the storyline. Holt McCallany from *Mindhunter* will portray Atlas, the season’s primary antagonist. Notably, there was no official word on a fourth season during the panel.

*Percy Jackson and the Olympians* season 3 will debut exclusively on Disney Plus on November 20, 2026.
