Release Schedule for Marvel’s VisionQuest Unveiled
Before Marvel makes its grand return to theaters this December with Avengers: Doomsday, the franchise is gearing up for a comeback on the small screen this month. VisionQuest, a pseudo-sequel to 2021’s WandaVision and 2024’s Agatha All Along, is set to debut on October 14. This limited series will consist of eight episodes, and the full release schedule has just been revealed.
In line with previous Disney Plus series, VisionQuest will kick off with a two-episode premiere. However, the release strategy takes an interesting turn afterward. Recent reports suggest that VisionQuest won’t follow the typical weekly episode drop or release all episodes at once. Instead, after the initial two-episode launch, new episodes will be released in pairs each week, leading up to the final two episodes, which will drop one at a time.
Here’s the complete release schedule for VisionQuest:
This schedule ensures that the series wraps up before Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters, giving fans ample time to catch up, especially if any characters make an appearance in the upcoming film.
VisionQuest centers on Paul Bettany’s Vision as he navigates the aftermath of WandaVision and the loss of his wife, Wanda Maximoff. Much of the series unfolds in a digital realm that seems to exist within Vision’s mind. Viewers can expect to see various android and AI characters from past Marvel projects in human form, including FRIDAY, EDITH, JARVIS, and Ultron. While there are glimpses of Vision and Ultron’s robotic forms, the series predominantly showcases them in human guise, allowing James Spader to fully embrace his role as Ultron.
Marvel has positioned VisionQuest as the finale of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Vision embarks on a quest to find his family, particularly his son Tommy. Depending on how the series concludes, we might see Vision and Tommy in Doomsday. While Bettany’s involvement in the film hasn’t been confirmed, the Russo brothers have hinted that several appearances are being kept under wraps.
