Resident Evil Requiem Introduces Stunning New Photo Mode

Capcom has just released a new update for Resident Evil Requiem, and while it addresses several bugs in this popular horror title, the community is buzzing about the standout feature: photo mode.

Players can now pause the game at almost any moment and activate photo mode with a simple button press. This allows for capturing stunning moments from various angles and applying different filters, or even posing characters like Leon and Grace to create the perfect shot. The official social media account for Resident Evil has already showcased some impressive capabilities of this new feature.

Photo modes are fantastic additions to games, and the Resident Evil community has already produced some striking images. For instance, check out these shots from a Reddit user that beautifully showcase the game’s visuals and the enhanced ability to capture them.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the screenshots section of Resident Evil Requiem’s Steam Community to see what creative content emerges with this new photo mode. Its introduction also reinforces that there’s no need for Capcom and Nvidia to alter the game’s visual style or character models with DLSS 5.

Beyond photo mode, this update also resolves various visual and progression-blocking bugs, fixes typos, eliminates an infinite ammo exploit, and introduces new character expressions in cutscenes to better convey emotions. Resident Evil Requiem is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Alongside these free post-launch updates, there are plans for a story expansion and a new minigame for Resident Evil Requiem in the future.
