Rockstar Games Continues to Advance with GTA 6 Plans Despite Ongoing Leak Uncertainty

Rockstar Games is still in the dark about the identity of the individual or group known as “Cyberleek,” which has been responsible for the ongoing leaks of gameplay clips from Grand Theft Auto 6, as reported recently. This comes despite a week filled with daily videos showcasing previously unseen elements of the game set to release on November 19.

An eagerly awaited “extended” preview of the game is scheduled as a Netflix exclusive for August 27. Reports indicate that Rockstar has no plans to alter this release or its marketing strategy due to the leaks. However, the company is fully mobilized to investigate how this latest breach occurred. Following a significant hack in 2022, Rockstar implemented much stricter security measures, including the cessation of remote work. Yet, it appears someone still managed to access what could be an early version of the game.

In an industry known for its secrecy and aggressive legal tactics to protect intellectual property, Take-Two has built a reputation for being particularly relentless in shutting down fan projects and pursuing legal action against any misuse of its trademarks and copyrights. Fans have humorously speculated all week about the company’s lawyers showing up at the leaker’s door to make them vanish.

Earlier today, it was reported that Take-Two has already initiated requests to subpoena records from Discord and Microsoft in an effort to uncover how the leaks occurred and identify those responsible. Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has maintained complete silence on social media, with no updates on GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption Online, or any of its other titles.
