Samsung TVs to Feature Google Photos Starting in 2026

Google Photos is set to make its debut on TVs next year, kicking off with an integration for Samsung models. Samsung has revealed that this integration will allow users to effortlessly display photos taken on their phones on Samsung TVs, transforming them into a larger, cinematic experience. The goal is to make Google Photos an integral part of the TV viewing experience.

Currently, there isn’t a dedicated app for Google Photos on any TV platform, including Google’s own Google TV. However, Samsung’s announcement does not clarify whether this new integration will come as a standalone app. The initial rollout will focus on a Memories feature, which will highlight curated collections of photos and videos on Tizen OS-powered TVs starting in March 2026, exclusively for Samsung TVs for the first six months.

Following this, the second half of 2026 will introduce Google Photos search capabilities and generative AI image features. The “Create with AI” function will offer themed templates powered by Nano Banana, along with AI-driven image generation and editing tools, including Google’s Remix and Photo to Video features. Additionally, “Personalized Results” will enable users to enjoy slideshows of their images based on specific themes or content, such as “ocean,” “hiking,” or “Paris.”

Samsung anticipates that setting up this integration will be straightforward, requiring users to log in to their Google account on the TV to automatically showcase images stored in Google Photos. While Samsung aims to be the first to roll out these features, it’s expected that other TV manufacturers will follow suit once the exclusivity period for the Memories feature concludes.
