Samsung’s 2TB 9100 Pro SSD Offers Competitive Pricing
Finding a fast, high-capacity NVMe SSD at a decent price has been quite the quest lately. While it may not be getting significantly easier, one of Samsung’s latest SSDs is now available for less than it has been since February 2026. That’s a win, right? The heatsink-less version of the Samsung 9100 Pro with 2TB of storage is priced at $302.99 on Amazon, which is about $100 lower than its usual cost. Sure, it did dip to $169.99 back in October 2025, but right now, it’s a smarter buy compared to the 1TB model priced at $250.
The 9100 Pro is Samsung’s first SSD to support PCIe Gen 5, making it an excellent choice if your motherboard and other components can take full advantage of its speed. Its theoretical maximum random read and write speeds are at least double that of the 990 Pro SSD it replaces. However, it still performs well (albeit not at peak speed) in a PCIe Gen 4 setup.
You can use it without a heatsink in a PC or laptop, though it’s always a good idea to have one that fits your system. If you plan to use it in a PlayStation 5, you’ll definitely need to install a heatsink to prevent potential heat issues that could damage the SSD. Fortunately, heatsinks are quite affordable and come in various designs and price ranges.

* Another Samsung product worth checking out is its Smart Monitor lineup, perfect for those wanting a PC monitor that can also function as a TV and support video chats. The 32-inch M8 4K monitor is currently at its lowest price of $349.99 on Amazon and B&H Photo, a solid 50% off its original price of $699.99. It features USB-C and HDMI inputs for your desktop or laptop and natively supports video streaming apps, along with picture-in-picture modes for multitasking. Having reviewed an older model in 2022, I can say that a $350 price point would have significantly influenced my perception of its value back then. You’re getting a lot of features and a sleek design for a great price.
* Google is gearing up to unveil the Pixel 11 series phones next week at its Made by Google event on August 12. While the company has hinted at price increases, one of its phones has seen a price drop. The Pixel 10A with 128GB of storage is now available for $424 at various retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, across all color options (including the appealing berry). This marks its second-best price to date, down $75 from its usual cost, with only one previous instance of it dropping to $399 during a brief Prime Day sale. Although we felt the Pixel 10A played it a bit too safe (lacking unique features to warrant an upgrade from the Pixel 9A), it remains a solid choice with excellent camera quality, seven years of software support, and impressive specs.
* The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni wireless gaming headset has just seen its first price drop at various retailers. While it’s a modest reduction from its usual $399.99 to $379.99, it brings it closer to its main competitor, the $350 Turtle Beach Stealth 2 Pro. This headset boasts numerous features, including a battery-swapping capability and a base station that can wirelessly transmit audio from multiple gaming platforms simultaneously. As SteelSeries’ latest model, it offers improved sound and mic quality compared to the 2022 Arctis Nova Pro wireless headset. Interestingly, both the Omni and the previous-gen Nova Pro are currently priced the same at $379.99, so if you’re in the market, definitely opt for the newer model.
