Saros: Housemarque’s Latest Game Featuring Rahul Kohli

Housemarque, known for its work on Returnal, unveiled its upcoming title during the February 2025 PlayStation State of Play. Titled Saros, this new single-player action game is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, with enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro. Players will step into the shoes of Arjun Devraj, portrayed by Rahul Kohli, who finds himself stranded on an alien world reminiscent of Returnal’s challenges.

Creative director Gregory Louden described Saros as an “evolution of the Housemarque gameplay-first experience,” building upon the foundation laid by Returnal. He highlighted a significant gameplay difference: in Saros, players will encounter permanent resources and progression, ensuring that every death carries weight. “After each death, the world will change, but you’ll have the opportunity to choose and permanently upgrade your loadout with a dynamic array of weapons and suit enhancements to ‘come back stronger’ against the trials on Carcosa,” Louden explained. Carcosa, the enigmatic planet where Devraj is trapped, is characterized by its haunting eclipse and ever-shifting landscape. While Louden shared limited details during the State of Play and on the PlayStation Blog, he mentioned that a gameplay reveal is on the horizon for later in 2025.
