Savannah Officer Shares Flock Account Access with Her ICE Agent Spouse

Amber Harpe, a former police officer in Savannah, was dismissed in August after an internal investigation revealed she had shared her Flock system login details with her husband, Tyler Harpe, who works as an ICE agent. The Savannah Police Department does not permit sharing access to its Flock data with ICE, and this breach was deemed a violation of security protocols.

During the time he had unauthorized access, Tyler Harpe performed 983 searches on 97 license plates, predominantly belonging to Hispanic drivers, as reported by a local news source. The Harpes defended their actions, claiming that the access was not used for personal gain and that the searches were solely for “law-enforcement purposes.”

Initially, Interim Major Max Nowinsky suggested a minor eight-hour suspension for Harpe. However, Major Michelle Halford and Assistant Police Chief Robert Gavin disagreed with this recommendation, leading to her termination. Harpe was fired alongside five other SPD employees after the investigation revealed misuse of the Flock system. While four of those employees were later arrested, Harpe was not among them.
