Score a Deal on the First UWB-Enabled Smart Lock Compatible with Apple Home Key During Amazon’s Big Spring Sale

There are plenty of impressive smart locks available, but if you’re an iPhone user, the Aqara U400 is definitely worth considering. This model features hands-free unlocking that activates as you approach, thanks to the integration of Apple’s U1 ultra-wideband chip. This means you can simply walk up and open the door without fumbling for keys. Right now, it’s available at a discounted price of $229.49 during the Big Spring Sale, down from its original price of $269.99.

As noted by a reviewer, while hands-free unlocking isn’t a new concept, the U400 offers one of the most dependable experiences yet. It utilizes Apple’s Home Key, which combines Bluetooth and UWB for seamless connection and authentication, eliminating the need for an additional app.

Beyond the Home Key feature, the U400 can also be unlocked using a code on its touchscreen keypad, a registered fingerprint, or a traditional key. This smart lock supports Matter-over-Thread, making it compatible with various smart home ecosystems. To enable communication over Thread instead of just Wi-Fi, you’ll need a Thread border router, such as recent Apple TV models, the second-gen HomePod, or the HomePod Mini, which come at different price points.
