Season 2 of Frieren is set to brighten your post-holiday gaming experience.

The highly anticipated anime of 2026, *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End*, has finally revealed its release date. The second season, produced by Madhouse and based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, is set to debut on Crunchyroll on January 16, 2026, just in time to lift your spirits after the holiday season.

*Frieren* is a fantasy tale that centers around the titular character, an immortal elven mage who seeks to understand the significance of mortality and the fleeting nature of life. Following the loss of her original companions who helped her defeat the Demon Lord, Frieren embarks on a new journey, this time embracing the transient aspects of human existence. The first season was a massive hit, quickly becoming a favorite among fans.

Alongside the release date announcement, a new, slightly extended trailer has been unveiled, highlighting some of the challenges that Frieren, Fern, and Stark will encounter this season. While the series is known for its deep themes, it also delivers plenty of action, and the trailer hints at more epic battles reminiscent of those in the first season. Madhouse continues to receive accolades for their work on the initial season, and early glimpses suggest that season 2 will maintain that high standard.

*Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End* season 2 is set to premiere on Crunchyroll on January 16, 2026.
