Season 2 of Frieren Unveils Its Main Antagonist

The peaceful days in the Northern Plateau are coming to an end. A sneak peek for the upcoming episode of *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End* season 2 hints that the elven mage Frieren, alongside her apprentice Fern and the warrior Stark, will soon encounter a formidable villain for the first time this season.

*Frieren* is known for its leisurely pace and poetic storytelling, often showcasing the group tackling seemingly minor tasks on their journey to Aureole. Set years after the defeat of the Demon King, the world is largely at peace. However, as season 1 demonstrated, this unique style doesn’t mean *Frieren* is devoid of action and peril. Demons still roam the land, and while their leader has fallen, some powerful figures, including former generals of the Demon King, remain.

The ominous demon featured in the promotional image is Revolte, a formidable general who will serve as the antagonist in an upcoming mini-arc. The image also reveals that Frieren’s party will reunite with Methode, a fellow participant from the first-class mage exam, and Genau, another first-class mage who acted as a proctor during the exam. Both have been assigned to eliminate demons in the Rufen Region of the Northern Plateau.

The Divine Revolte Arc is set to kick off on February 27, marking a brief one-week hiatus for *Frieren*. When it returns, fans can expect an action-packed arc filled with new and familiar characters.
