Sebastian Stan Could Join the DC Universe in a Secret Role for The Batman 2

The Batman Part II might be adding another Marvel alum to its roster, as Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan is reportedly in discussions to join the cast in a secretive role. This news comes shortly after it was revealed that Marvel’s Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson has also been cast in an undisclosed part for the sequel.

While Stan’s specific character remains under wraps, speculation is rife about potential roles, especially with hints that the plot could involve iconic storylines like Hush or the Court of Owls.

One possibility is that Stan could portray Tommy Elliot, also known as Hush, a villain with deep connections to Bruce Wayne’s past who orchestrates a conspiracy involving many of Batman’s foes.

Another intriguing option is Lincoln March, a significant figure within the Court of Owls, a clandestine group that has influenced Gotham City for years.

March has a rich history in Batman comics, first appearing in 1974’s World’s Finest #223 as Thomas Wayne, Jr., Bruce Wayne’s older brother who was believed to have died in childhood. However, modern narratives reveal that he was actually taken by the Court of Owls and trained as a Talon, adopting the name Lincoln March to conceal his true identity.

Adding to the complexity, in some alternate realities, Thomas Wayne, Jr. assumes the identity of Owlman, a dark counterpart to Batman and a member of the Crime Syndicate, a villainous team that includes sinister versions of classic Justice League heroes.

Regardless of the role he takes on in The Batman Part II, if Stan joins the cast, he will be balancing his commitments to both Marvel and DC, as he is set to reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday alongside his Thunderbolts team, now rebranded as the New Avengers.

The Batman 2 is slated for release on October 1, 2027. In the meantime, fans can look forward to more exciting content with upcoming DC movies and shows.
