Silent Hill: Townfall Embraces Analog Horror, Releasing This Fall

Silent Hill: Townfall made a splash in the latest State of Play, showcasing fresh gameplay footage and announcing its launch on PS5 and PC for September 24, 2026.

Originally teased back in 2022, Townfall was fully unveiled earlier this year during another State of Play. This spinoff of the main series is set in the 90s and follows Simon Ordell, who finds himself waking up in the eerie Scottish town of St. Amelia, where he must unravel the mystery of his connection to this unfamiliar place.

The trailer revealed Simon awakening on the docks of St. Amelia, where he uses a nostalgic CRTV to follow a mysterious woman’s voice into the town. We finally get a glimpse of this woman, Zoe, who is identified as a nurse at a local clinic.

As expected from the Silent Hill franchise, the atmosphere quickly shifts from melancholic to sinister, with dark creatures lurking in the town’s shadows. The trailer concludes with the tagline, “fear the truth behind the static,” hinting that the 90s setting and analog tech will be integral to the experience. Simon’s CRTV appears to be a key gameplay element, allowing him to carry it around and tune into different frequencies, likely to solve puzzles. Players will even be able to use motion controls to adjust the CRTV for a better signal, evoking a sense of nostalgia.

For now, that’s all the information available, as Silent Hill games thrive on unexpected scares. Silent Hill: Townfall will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions, with the Deluxe Edition offering additional bonuses and launching two days earlier on September 22.
