It’s been nearly six months since Team Cherry unleashed Hollow Knight: Silksong, but the dedicated developers are still busy enhancing this Metroidvania gem.

The latest update, now available for testing in the public beta on Steam, has fans buzzing with excitement. Version 1.0.29740, as detailed in the patch notes, introduces a host of changes and fixes, addressing various issues reported by players. The standout feature? “Allowed Silk Soar through top scene exits.”

This means players can now use Silk Soar to bypass transitions—no more ceilings to hold you back. Expect some epic gameplay clips, as fans have already started sharing their experiences online just hours after the beta went live. One user noted, “A new public beta/patch of Silksong is out, and now the Silk Soar has no limit, so you can see how insane the map of Silksong is in 30 seconds.”

A video showcasing the revamped Silk Soar ability is making the rounds, and the comment section is a mix of excitement and hilarious speculation about whether this is all just a prank. One fan quipped, “Is this a Silkpost or is it real?” only to be met with the realization that it’s indeed genuine.

In another Reddit thread, a fan exclaimed, “They updated Silk Soar!!!” with replies echoing disbelief. “Wait, what did they change? I thought this was a Silkpost,” one user commented, while another added, “Uh-huh, yeah, wouldn’t that be nice – WAIT A MINUTE, IT’S NOT A SILKPOST?!” Many others shared the same sentiment, but rest assured, it’s not a Silkpost.

It’s entertaining to see the Silksong community in a frenzy, and I can’t wait to see how things unfold when Sea of Sorrow drops later this year.

Nine years later, Hollow Knight’s lore just got even more intriguing thanks to this subtle update from Team Cherry.
