Snapchat Enhances Event Planning and Meetup Features

Snapchat is rolling out Plans, a fresh set of features aimed at transforming the plans made in group chats—whether it’s for birthday bashes, study groups, or weekend hangouts—into real-life meetups, all without leaving the app.

With Plans, users can set event specifics, invite up to 200 friends with dynamic Bitmoji invitations that change based on responses, and manage RSVPs. Invitations are sent through one-on-one chats, and automatic reminders are dispatched to attendees as the event approaches. A special “My Plans” tab on user profiles helps keep track of both upcoming and past events.

As Snap faces challenges in retaining users in key markets, features like Snapchat Plans are essential for encouraging user engagement and could play a vital role in the company’s future, especially while its owner is preoccupied with eyewear ventures.
