“Some Marvel Stars Will Sit Out Avengers: Doomsday”

Three actors from the Marvel universe have hinted that they won’t be part of Avengers: Doomsday, even though most of the MCU cast is gearing up for this epic crossover.

During an appearance on a talk show, Martin Freeman, known for his role as Everett Ross in the Black Panther films, responded to a question about joining “the new fancy” Marvel movie by saying, “Apparently not. Not everyone.”

Freeman was joined by Wumni Mosaku, who plays B-15, and she humorously remarked that the host’s claim that “most people are in” was “rude.”

Also on the couch was the newly knighted Sir Idris Elba, who provided a more straightforward reason for his character Heimdall’s absence: “My character died, Graham. So…” to which the host quipped, “They all fucking die!”

Marvel actors are well-versed in keeping spoilers under wraps, including their potential appearances in upcoming films.

However, it would be surprising if Mosaku’s TVA chief doesn’t make an appearance, especially with the possibility of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom playing with timelines and Tom Hiddleston being part of the Avengers: Doomsday lineup.

As Freeman pointed out, Avengers: Doomsday boasts an impressive roster. The livestream cast reveal in March 2025 confirmed the return of legacy actors from the X-Men and Fantastic Four, along with several MCU favorites.

Recent teasers for Avengers: Doomsday have spotlighted characters like Steve Rogers, Thor, the X-Men, and the Wakandans.

Mark your calendars: Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
