Sonic the Hedgehog Joins the Fortnite Roster

Up until now, all signs pointed to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 being centered around gaming themes. However, the official teasers primarily hinted at hacking as a major element. Now, it’s confirmed that Fortnite Override will indeed be a Gaming Legends season. On August 10, a teaser from the Sonic the Hedgehog X account revealed that a location inspired by Sonic will be featured on the Fortnite map next season.

In addition to the tweet, the Sega YouTube channel shared the same teaser titled “HACKING Now: Sonic In For..t…” If the crossover wasn’t already evident, the description made it clear: “Sonic, have you heard of a ‘Fortnite’? Looks like something is coming on August 20! Be prepared!” This date aligns perfectly with the launch of Chapter 7 Season 4.

The teaser features someone trying to hack a computer, then transitions to what seems to be a location inspired by Green Hill, one of Sonic’s most iconic settings. Players can spot Peely running through the grass while Sonic rolls and speeds through a hoop. Many speculate that this could introduce a mythic item allowing players to curl up like Sonic and dash at incredible speeds.

Though the teaser is just 10 seconds long, players quickly dove into analysis, searching for Easter eggs or hidden details that might hint at what’s ahead. In the background, they noticed clouds shaped like Tetris blocks (Tetriminoes), confirming another collaboration hinted at in previously decrypted posters.

But there’s more — an intriguing clue has emerged for gamers. A channel named “Hint Transmissions” has been set up on the official Fortnite Discord server, where the bot account has been distributing Lobby Hack codes. While details about Lobby Hacks remain scarce, leaker iFireMonkey has indicated that these codes will be usable after the event and will provide special abilities to the hacker. In addition to offering players an edge in-game, the Lobby Hack codes also hint at another collaboration. One of the codes, “TakeYourHeart,” is a phrase closely tied to Persona 5, suggesting yet another rumored crossover for Chapter 7 Season 4.

Animora is an upcoming Fortnite experience influenced by Genshin Impact.
