Sonos Slashes Prices on Audio Gear for Super Bowl Sale

Sonos may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of the Super Bowl, but the brand is rolling out its annual discounts just in time for the big game. You can snag 20% off a variety of its standout products, including soundbars and standalone speakers, all designed to enhance your audio experience and fill your home with immersive sound.

Until February 16th, you can take advantage of these deals on the Era 100 and Era 300 speakers, the Beam and Arc Ultra soundbars, and a selection of wireless subwoofers. To give you an idea of the savings, some of these discounts are on par with or even better than the prices of Sonos’ certified refurbished items.

The Era 100 is arguably one of the best smart speakers in its price range, boasting impressive stereo sound and enhanced bass compared to its predecessor, the Sonos One. It supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with line-in audio via USB-C for those who prefer a wired connection. Typically priced at $219, it’s currently available for $179.

The Era 300 takes things up a notch, delivering a more expansive sound than the Era 100. It specializes in spatial audio, which can be truly captivating with the right tracks, although not all Dolby Atmos mixes are created equal. Like the Era 100, it features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, plus USB-C line-in. While it may not excel in stereo playback compared to its predecessor, it’s a solid choice for those seeking an immersive listening experience. The sale price is $379, down from $479.

Moving on to soundbars, the second-gen Beam is now priced at $369, reduced from $499. While it may not be the most feature-rich option in this price range, its compatibility with other Sonos products and improved soundstage over the first-gen model make it a contender. It includes Dolby Atmos, though it achieves this through virtualization rather than upward-firing speakers. Keep in mind that it has limited physical connectivity, so if you want to connect it to your TV or receiver via optical audio, you’ll need to grab a separate HDMI-to-optical adapter.

The Arc Ultra is a significant upgrade over the Beam, priced at $899 (down from $1,099). It offers substantial bass improvements, making it capable of standing alone without a wireless subwoofer. The sound quality is more immersive, and it includes Bluetooth connectivity, which the original Arc lacked. You can enhance its audio further by connecting other Sonos speakers, although older models like the Play:1 and Play:3 aren’t compatible for surround sound.

If you’re eyeing the Beam or Arc Ultra, consider adding a Sonos subwoofer to elevate their performance. The Sub 4 is the premium option, currently priced at $759 (down from $899). While it’s on the pricey side for a subwoofer, it can be positioned horizontally or vertically to fit your space.

For a more budget-friendly choice, the Sub Mini is available for $399, reduced from $499. While it may still seem pricey, it fills a gap for Sonos fans who previously had no affordable subwoofer option. Although it may not be ideal for large rooms, it performs well in most settings. Its design features a force-canceling effect to minimize floor vibrations, making it a great option if you’re concerned about disturbing others.
