Sony announces upcoming PlayStation hardware set to launch in 2026.
While the PlayStation 6 may still be a few years off and the PlayStation 5 continues to see price increases, there’s no shortage of exciting hardware on the horizon for 2026. Among the highlights is the stylish new PlayStation FlexStrike, set to launch in August alongside Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
Recently, new information about the 2026 hardware lineup was unveiled, detailing release dates, pricing, and pre-order information for both the FlexStrike and a new PlayStation gaming monitor that features a built-in charging hook for the DualSense controller. Here’s what PlayStation enthusiasts can look forward to this year.
The FlexStrike, Sony’s in-house wireless fight stick, is officially launching on August 6, coinciding with the release of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Priced at $199.99 (€199.99 / £179.99 / 34,980 yen), pre-orders will open on June 12.
This fight stick offers both wired and wireless connectivity options, utilizing PS Link and a USB dongle for wireless play. It boasts an ergonomic design with a raised button platform, a built-in DualSense touchpad, and swappable restrictor gates (square, octagon, circle) that can be changed without tools. Additionally, the FlexStrike comes with a sling carry case and a rechargeable battery.
Launching on August 27 in the U.S. and Japan, Sony’s new 27-inch gaming monitor is designed specifically for PlayStation 5 users. Pre-orders will begin on June 5 through select retailers. The monitor is priced at $349.99 (49,980 yen).
Featuring a 27-inch QHD IPS display (2560×1440) with VRR, the monitor supports refresh rates of up to 120 Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and up to 240 Hz on compatible PCs or Macs. A unique feature is the retractable hook that holds a DualSense controller on a charging platform, ensuring your PS5 gamepad stays powered up.
Additionally, Sony is set to release the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers sometime in 2026. These speakers utilize planar magnetic drivers for exceptional sound reproduction across the audible spectrum and include AI-enhanced noise rejection. They also offer up to 12 hours of playtime on a single charge, making them portable for use in different locations.
Details regarding the price and release date for the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are still pending. Here’s what we know, what we think we know, and what remains uncertain.
