Sony increases PlayStation Plus subscription prices across all tiers.

On Monday, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that it would be raising the prices for PlayStation Plus subscriptions. The announcement, made through a post on X, indicated that the starting price for a one-month subscription would be $10.99, with a three-month subscription priced at $27.99. Initially, it seemed that only the Essential tier would be impacted, but that turned out to be incorrect.

By Wednesday, prices for all tiers of PlayStation Plus had increased. A one-month subscription to PlayStation Plus Extra is now $16.99, which is a $2 hike, while the three-month option has risen to $43.99, up by $4. For the Premium tier, a one-month subscription now costs $19.99 (an increase of $2), and the three-month subscription has gone up by $5 to $54.99.

Annual subscriptions for all tiers remain unchanged. The 12-month prices are $79.99 for Essential, $134.99 for Extra, and $159.99 for Premium.

As noted in PlayStation’s original announcement, the price increase will apply only to new subscribers, with the exception of users in Turkey and India. Current subscribers will only see a price change if their existing subscription lapses or is modified.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the most basic and affordable tier, offering online multiplayer access, monthly free games, and additional perks. The free games for May include EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols.

Players subscribed to Extra and Premium tiers enjoy even more benefits, such as access to the PlayStation Game Catalog, which recently added titles like Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2. Premium subscribers also gain access to a wider selection of games in the Classics Catalog and can stream movies from the Sony Pictures Catalog.

These price increases for PlayStation Plus come just two months after Sony announced similar hikes for the PS5 and PlayStation Portal.
