Star Wars Mod Transforms Starfield into an Exciting Experience

Starfield has sparked mixed reactions among gamers since its launch in 2023, but a new mod is enhancing the experience for many. The Star Wars: Genesis mod, released in 2024, introduces lightsabers and a deeper immersion for PC players eager to explore a galaxy far, far away. Developed by the modder known as DeityVengy, this mod is available for free on Nexus Mods and features an original narrative set between the prequel and original Star Wars trilogies.

An upcoming update, expected before the end of January, promises to add even more content, with DeityVengy showcasing some of these new elements in a recent video. In this clip, the modder explains that wielding a lightsaber shifts players into a first-person perspective, as Starfield’s melee animations aren’t designed for lightsaber duels. The story segment highlighted involves the player’s character facing off against a Nightsister from Dathomir, allowing players to choose whether to spare or defeat her.

On the mod’s official page, DeityVengy mentions that Lucasfilm granted “express permission” for the use of music from the Star Wars universe, drawn from titles like Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, The Force Unleashed, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Additionally, the mod incorporates “licensed AI-generated voices” alongside performances from real voice actors. Currently, Star Wars: Genesis is exclusive to PC players of Starfield. Bethesda has also confirmed plans for an additional story DLC for Starfield, with some new features recently revealed during a closed-door preview.
