Suno Enhances Customization Features in Version 5.5
Suno has just rolled out a major update with version 5.5 of its AI music model. Unlike previous updates that primarily enhanced sound quality and vocal realism, this version emphasizes user empowerment with three exciting new features: Voices, My Taste, and Custom Models.
According to the release notes, Voices is the most sought-after addition. This feature allows users to train the vocal model using their own voice. You can upload clean a cappella recordings, finished tracks with background music, or even sing directly into your phone or laptop’s microphone. The better the quality of the recording, the less data you’ll need to provide. To safeguard against voice theft, Suno requires users to say a verification phrase, although there’s a chance this could be bypassed using existing AI models of celebrity voices.
Once you’ve trained the Voices feature, you can have an AI version of yourself perform over your uploaded music or AI-generated tracks.
To enhance personalization, the Custom Models feature enables users to train Suno on their own music catalog. You’ll need to upload at least six tracks and assign a name to your custom model, which will then influence how v5.5 responds to your prompts.
Lastly, My Taste evolves over time by learning your musical preferences—like the genres, moods, and artists you frequently choose for prompts. It applies this knowledge when you use the magic wand to auto-generate styles.
While My Taste will be accessible to all users, the Voices and Custom Models features are exclusive to Pro and Premier subscribers.
