T1 Phone PR Firm Ends Support for Trump Mobile
Where’s the Trump phone? We’ll keep the conversation going every week. While we’re still waiting on our preordered devices, we received some surprising updates from Trump Mobile’s media relations manager this week.
If you’ve been following the saga of the Trump phone, you know that Trump Mobile hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with the media. It seems that trend is continuing, as the company has parted ways with its long-time media relations firm.
Poplar Group has been the voice of Trump Mobile since at least last June, when founding partner Chris Walker made a statement asserting that “T1 phones are proudly being made in America.” However, that claim has since been debunked, and even Trump Mobile has acknowledged it.
I’ve had a few conversations with Walker, who previously offered to speed up the delivery of our two T1 Phone orders, but we’re still in limbo. This week, he informed me that his team “is not assisting Trump Mobile any further” and was unsure if the company had brought on a new PR firm.
With the phone now officially launched, it seems the company may feel less inclined to engage with the press. However, the details surrounding that launch are still murky: only a few media outlets have the phone, and there are a couple of users on Truth Social and X who appear to be genuine buyers, but that’s about it for now.
