Tate Brothers Taken into Custody by US Marshals in Miami

Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were taken into custody on Saturday in Miami by US Marshals due to new allegations of rape and sex trafficking in England. British authorities are reportedly seeking their extradition.

Andrew Tate is facing serious charges, including seven counts of rape, three counts of sex trafficking, three counts of assault, and 19 charges related to sexual images of minors and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate is up against two new rape charges, one sexual assault charge, and three sex trafficking charges. This adds to the 21 charges previously announced by British authorities in 2025, along with ongoing investigations in Romania and the US.

The brothers had previously been indicted in Romania on similar charges, but a judge dismissed the indictment due to procedural issues. There are speculations that the lifting of travel restrictions and the judge’s ruling may have been influenced by a pressure campaign from the Trump administration on the Romanian government. The White House was also accused of intervening on Andrew Tate’s behalf last year when customs officials confiscated his devices.

Self-identified misogynists, the Tates have built a significant online following despite being banned from many platforms for hate speech, including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. They operated an online school that claimed to teach men how to escape “socially induced incarceration” and recruit women into “sexual slavery.” Additionally, they offered courses on making money through crypto, drop shipping, and other questionable activities, resembling a pyramid scheme.

Their legal troubles and criminal investigations have been ongoing since 2015.
