Teaser Video Hints at the Return of Regular Show from Cartoon Network
The beloved animated series is making a comeback this May, rebranded as Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. This revival of the eight-season classic has generated buzz after an early leak from a now-removed YouTube video hinted at a fresh take on the series, set to debut on Monday, March 23.
The return of Regular Show was officially announced in 2024 during the Annecy festival, where it was revealed that the original creator, J.G. Quintel, a dedicated Sega enthusiast, would be involved in the new project. The show originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2017, spanning 244 episodes, with its final season titled Regular Show in Space.
This quirky animated series chronicles the misadventures of blue jay Mordecai and raccoon Rigby as they navigate their jobs—and their penchant for slacking off—under the watchful eye of Benson, a gumball machine and park groundskeeper. They share the screen with a cast of eccentric characters, including Muscle Man, Hi Five Ghost, and Skips the yeti. Fans can expect to hear the familiar voices of Quintel, Sam Marin, Mark Hamill, William Salyers, and Janie Haddad Tompkins returning for Regular Show: The Lost Tapes.
Currently, the show’s official YouTube channel is hosting a marathon of Season 6, allowing fans to relive the series’ charm.
Throughout its run, Regular Show garnered numerous nominations for Annie and Emmy awards. It also inspired a 2015 movie, Regular Show: The Movie, a Nintendo 3DS game called Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land, and even a lawsuit involving high score champion Billy Mitchell.
Regular Show: The Lost Tapes is set to premiere on May 11, and fans are eager to see if that date holds true.
