Tessa Thompson expresses interest in returning to the MCU, but her next appearance may not be in Avengers: Doomsday.

For the stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing coy about their involvement in upcoming projects is almost second nature. Tessa Thompson recently showcased this skill during an interview when asked if her character, Valkyrie, would appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

With so many big names joining the cast, including Robert Downey Jr. returning in a new role as Doctor Doom, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Valkyrie back in action. However, Thompson kept her response vague, leaving the door open for Valkyrie to make an appearance elsewhere in the MCU.

“Oh, [I’m] not able to confirm anything,” she stated while discussing her Netflix drama His & Hers, where she stars alongside Jon Bernthal, known for his role as The Punisher. When asked if she’d be interested in stepping back into the Marvel universe, she replied, “Yeah, definitely.” She expressed her enthusiasm for the collaborative nature of the MCU, highlighting the talented people involved in creating these expansive worlds and the variety of tones that can be explored within Marvel films.

Valkyrie has already made her mark in four films and two animated series within the MCU, battling everything from god-killers to zombies, showcasing her versatility just like the actress who portrays her. “You can explore drama and comedy, and there’s so much to do,” she added. “And I just love the character so much that I would always be interested. For sure.”

Thompson is also open to revisiting her role in the Creed franchise alongside Michael B. Jordan. “We love those films so much,” she admitted. “And I think there’s still more to say if audiences want to show up. I think we want to be there for them and with them.”

Whether she’s donning gloves or wielding a hammer, Thompson is ready to support her characters.
